SLUG-DOCTORTM
TIGHT RACK SYSTEM
"Fixing
loose racks one ball at a time!"
Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's
- Q:
Why is it called the Slug-Doctor
TM?
- A:
When one breaks into a loose rack and the balls don't spread very well,
it's often referred to as "getting a slug rack".
The Slug-Doctor
TM is your remedy for this.
- Q:
How long should it take to setup?
- A:
It should take no more
than 5-10 minutes to set up.
- Q:
Any recommendations to obtain the best results?
- A:
Best results are obtained when used with equipment in good condition. Pool balls should be identical in size, pool table cloth should be free of deep divots or tears, and racking area should be cleaned thoroughly prior to initial set-up.
- Q:
Why do I need to thoroughly clean the racking area with a brush?
- A:
This helps the dot labels to better adhere to the cloth. It
also
ensures that there is no debris on the table which could become a high
spot under the dot label.
- Q:
What happens if I mess up during the set-up process?
- A:
No worries... just peel the dots off and start over again.
You have a roll of 200 labels which will last a while.
- Q:
How do I rack the balls?
- A:
You rack the balls by
hand. Start by carefully placing the head ball on the top
location. Then place the remaining balls slowly so as not to
disturb the placement of the balls already in place. Time to
rack should be 15 to 25 seconds.
- Q:
Should I still use my triangle rack?
- A:
You will no longer have
the need to rack with your triangle. As a result, you will
likely notice less wear of the cloth.
- Q:
What's the big deal with having all the balls touching?
- A:
You get better ball
spread and have a better chance of pocketing ball(s) and running out.
- Q:
Do the dot labels affect the roll of the ball(s)?
- A:
They can but it is very
minimal. No more than the spot sticker would affect the roll
of a ball. The dot labels are ultra-thin, only 0.0025 inches
(0.06 mm) thick.
- Q:
How often can I set up the Slug-Doctor
TM
on a pool table?
- A:
As often as you like.
You're only limited to the number of dot reinforcement labels
you have on-hand. Don't
have any more? Just go to your local office
supply store and pick up another pack of Avery 5721 Reinforcement
Labels. Alternatively,
you can also use the Avery 5729 White Reinforcement Labels.
- Q:
Can I use other brand reinforcement labels?
- A: This
is NOT recommended because not all labels from other brands have the
same dimensions, specifically the hole inside diameter.
The Slug-DoctorTM
Tight Rack System was designed for use with Avery brand labels only.
